Currently farming XP as a Unity coder, from creating game systems from the ground up to handling straightforward bug fixes and prototyping developer tools to enhance the workflow for the team.
I’m genuinely passionate about gaming, technology, and DIY electronics, always eager to tinker and explore new ideas in these areas.
FREELANCE
Currently taking on different types of collaborations and game development opportunities with great passion. I am continuously building my own game development toolset for Unity Engine, and as the founder of abixinteractive, I'm also looking forward to a game project that hasn't been officially announced yet.
FREELANCE
I started focusing almost exclusively on the coding side of Unity Engine projects I collaborated on. I worked full-time as a software engineer for over a year at a mid-sized game studio and took on several smaller projects afterward. Due to my development experience and expertise, I was entrusted with an evaluation and usability feedback case study by a major company for their Unity SDK.
FREELANCE
I was hired as a contractor for a long-term collaboration on an educational game project. Initially, I was responsible for concept design and producing puzzles. When the lead developer was preparing to leave the company, I began taking on more responsibilities and continued to maintain the project after the initial release.
FREELANCE
I began accepting freelance gigs to produce virtual presentations, including 3D visualizations and designing marketing materials. Over time, I also had some opportunities to create art assets for games, marking my initial entry into the industry.
EDUCATION AND ON-SITE JOBS
During my time at the University and after completing my master's degree in architecture, I worked in several companies, primarily focusing on presentation and interior design.
CEO at Castle of Blackwater
“Rado is a very knowledgable Unity developer that always looks to provide more value than what you hire him for. If you need someone that will take the time to learn everything about your project, and work diligently, Rado is your guy.”
CTO at Appniss
“Working with Rado was a real pleasure!! He’s a hard worker and cares about clean code and the quality of his code. He’s committed, and open to review and feedback.”
CEO at Gol&Co
“Radoslav is incredibly adaptive, well-versed in Unity 3D (animation and scripting in particular) and an excellent consultant for video game projects.”
Owner at Rabid Panda Games
“Rado was invaluable to our projects. He produced quality work and always had suggestions how to improve the project beyond our expectations. It will be a pleasure to hire Rado again in the future.”
I am based in Plovdiv, Bulgaria (UTC+2), and work entirely remotely. I hold EU citizenship and am the sole owner of AbixInteractive Ltd.
I am a native Bulgarian speaker and use English for day-to-day communication with most of my clients. I also possess a good understanding of Russian.
I believe that investing time in formal education wouldn’t significantly enhance my skillset compared to the practical experience gained from working in a real-world environment, particularly in the ever-evolving IT industry.
Freelancers can work on a range of projects and gain diverse experiences. Personally, I find fulfillment in the ongoing process of learning and adapting to maintain a competitive edge, which I find more rewarding than the predictability of the traditional 9-5 employment.
I decided to transition from a career in architecture due to a combination of factors. While I have a genuine interest in the field, I found that the limited local market, coupled with the prevalence of nepotism and corruption in the country, made it challenging to advance and receive fair compensation. I wanted to explore a path that offered both a more stable income and the chance to work on a broader range of creative projects, ultimately leading me to pursue new opportunities.
Working as a freelancer provided me with the opportunity to plan and transition into a new career path, which inevitably led to ups and downs. I also deliberately chose to spend more time with my family and newborn son.
